Capture leads from WhatsApp Web

This guide shows how to turn unknown WhatsApp Web chats into SnapContact contacts using the browser extension — one at a time, or a whole group at once. It captures only the chats you open, when you click. See WhatsApp Web extension for the feature reference.

Before you start​

  • Install the SnapContact extension in Chrome or Edge (see Installation).
  • Sign in to the extension with your SnapContact account.
  • Open WhatsApp Web and sign in there as usual.

Save a single unknown number​

  1. Open the chat with the unknown contact.
  2. Click the Save to SnapContact button the extension adds.
  3. Optionally add a tag (for example lead) or a quick note.
  4. Confirm. The contact is created in your account; if the number already exists, it's updated rather than duplicated.

Bulk-save a group's members​

  1. Open the group chat and view its member list.
  2. Use the extension's bulk-save action.
  3. Optionally apply a tag to everyone you save.
  4. Watch the progress indicator — you can cancel partway, and you'll get a summary of what saved and what didn't.

Good practice​

  • Apply a tag at capture so the new leads are organized immediately.
  • Capture is user-initiated and rate-limited by design; let a bulk save finish rather than hammering it.
  • The extension reads only the chat you have open — it doesn't collect in the background.

After capture​

Your new contacts are normal SnapContact contacts. Add a reminder to follow up, or open the contact later from any device — they sync to your account.

Does the extension capture chats in the background? No. It acts only when you click, on the chat you're viewing.

What happens if the number is already saved? It's updated, not duplicated.

Can I save everyone in a group? Yes — bulk-save the members, with an optional tag, progress, and a summary.

Which browsers work? Chrome and Edge (Chromium). Other browsers aren't supported for the extension.
